  • Serie A clubs in match-fixing probe

Atalanta, Siena and Novara are the Serie A clubs facing accusations of manipulation of games and bet frauds, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) confirmed.

In a comprehensive 48-page list released by the FIGC, 22 clubs were named along with 61 individuals that have been reported to the football authorities in connection with a match-fixing and betting investigation.
A statement from the FIGC read: ''Regarding the investigation carried out by the magistrates of Cremona, the Federal prosecutor has reported to the Disciplinary Commission 22 clubs, 61 people, of which 52 were active players at the time of the investigation, four were executives and three were registered as coaches.''
The investigation has been carried out by magistrates of the northern Italian city of Cremona and its focus is on 33 games over the past two seasons, the majority of which were in Serie B.
However, matches played in the last two Coppa Italia tournaments are under scrutiny.
In an earlier investigation, 17 people were arrested by Italian police last year, including Atalanta captain Cristiano Doni.
Atalanta, who had been promoted to Serie A at the end of the 2010-11 season, began the current campaign with a six-point deduction as punishment for match-fixing.
Doni was banned from football for three and a half years by the FIGC's disciplinary committee.

Lazio captain Stefano Mauri and former Genoa midfielder Omar Milanetto are among 19 people arrested by police investigating allegations of a match-fixing scandal in Italy.
Juventus coach Antonio Conte and Italy Euro 2012 defender Domenico Criscito have also been questioned by police.
A police statement said they searched 30 homes of players, trainers and administrators of clubs in Serie A, Serie B and Lega Pro, on suspicion of involvement in match-fixing.

Police in the northern city of Cremona said they were investigating Conte, fresh from his triumph in leading Juventus to the Italian Serie A championship for the first time since the club was relegated in 2006 in an earlier match-fixing scandal.

Monday's operation was part of 'Last Bet', a wider investigation into match-fixing in Italian soccer which has already seen a number of arrests of current and former Italian players.

'In this part of the investigation, indications have emerged of manipulation in matches from the 2010-11 Serie A championship, including games between Lazio and Genoa and Lecce and Lazio,' Raffale Grassi, director of SCO, the police service responsible for the investigation told SkyTG24 television.

Five people have also been arrested in Hungary on suspicion of being part of an illegal international betting ring.
In June last year, the Interior Ministry set up a special match-fixing task force in response to a number of high profile cases.

Former Atalanta captain and Italy midfielder Cristiano Doni, was banned for three-and-a-half years in August for his part in the 'Calcioscommesse' match-fixing scandal involving Serie B matches last season.

Atalanta, promoted from Serie B, were deducted six points in the top flight this season as a result of the scandal.

Former Lazio and Italy striker Giuseppe Signori was banned for five years and 15 other players were banned for between one and five years for their part in the same scandal.
