Emmanuel Eboue, Philippe Senderos, Tomas Rosicky, Mathieu Flamini and Justin Hoyte are all out. Gilberto is expected to revert to midfield.

PSV are without defenders Manuel Da Costa (laryngitis) and Jan Kromkamp (hamstring), with Eric Addo and Sun Xiang set to replace them.

    <DIV class=ch1>SCOUTING REPORT ON THE OPPOSITION</DIV>

Who are they? One of Dutch football's big three, along with Ajax and Feyenoord, and the team to beat at the moment having won the last two Eredivisie titles.

Recent form: PSV have had a better time of it than Arsenal since the first leg, but like the Gunners they have been knocked out of a domestic cup, going down 3-0 at NAC Breda when manager Ronald Koeman did an Arsene Wenger and left some of his big-name players on the bench. By the time he threw them on it was too late. However, in the league they picked up six points from two matches without conceding to stay top of the Eredivisie.

European record: The club dubbed 'The Farmers' won the Uefa Cup in 1978 and the European Cup in 1988. They won that title under Guus Hiddink, who worked wonders when he returned as coach in 2002 and guided them to the 2005 semi-final before quitting at the end of last season.

How did they get here? Hiddink bowed out of life as PSV boss with another Dutch championship which ensured a 10th consecutive Champions League campaign. They finished second in their group behind Liverpool after losing to the Reds and then Bordeaux in a meaningless final game.

Ones to watch: Check out the touchline where managers Ronald Koeman and Arsene Wenger have a bit of previous after the Frenchman disaparaged the Dutchman's boring tactics when he was at Ajax and they met in the Champions League. In between times in Holland Koeman masterminded the downfall of Manchester United and Liverpool as Benfica boss, so tactically he knows his stuff. In a multi-national squad Peruvain Jefferson Farfan is the main danger in attack alongside Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone.

Did you know? Leading scorer Farfan got back to doing what he does best with his 17th goal of the season at the weekend after hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons in recent weeks. On the pitch he struck out at an opponent with an elbow in a defeat at Roda and off it he had to fly back to his homeland for a DNA paternity test following a fling. His mother said: "Jefferson will embrace the baby once the heat is off."

They say: "Arsenal are not a typical English team. They play more a European system with fast players up front, a lot of talent in the midfield and a solid defence. it was important not to concede in Holland because we will get more space in London."
    PSV coach Ronald Koeman

Arsène Wenger is putting faith in Thierry Henry to fire Arsenal FC into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The club captain returned to training for the first time in two weeks today, and his manager hopes he can turn the tie as Arsenal look to erase a 1-0 first-leg deficit against PSV Eindhoven.

    'Vital' Henry
Back and hamstring problems have kept Henry out since the reverse in Eindhoven a fortnight ago, and he eased himself back in gently during a practice game this morning. "He can start if I decide to start him," Wenger said. "There is no risk for his health or his medical problems, just a risk it gets a bit worse after the game. He is vital because he can score you a goal at any moment."

    Defensive weakness
Should Henry start, it will boost a side who have lost in both domestic cup competitions in his absence, leaving the UEFA Champions League as Arsenal's last realistic hope of silverware. Saturday's 2-1 Premiership victory against Reading FC ended a sequence of three straight defeats but also highlighted Arsenal's defensive vulnerability; in 21 home matches this season they have registered just eight clean sheets. Arsenal remain unbeaten at their new stadium, but an away goal could conclusively tip things PSV's way.

    'Creative solutions'
Wenger needs to strike a balance between defence and attack, and believes this time, after dominating for periods in Eindhoven, Arsenal will find a way through. "We have to find solutions by being creative around the box, by the speed of our combinations and by being ruthless," he said. "We have worked to make more of our set-pieces and I hope we'll get more out of them on Wednesday."

    Injury problems
Tomáš Rosický and Emmanuel Eboué are the latest casualties for Arsenal while PSV coach Ronald Koeman must also make changes from the first leg after losing defenders Manuel Da Costa and Jan Kromkamp. His attacking options are increased by the return of leading scorer Jefferson Farfán and playmaker Ibrahim Afellay, though the latter claims not to be fully fit. Koeman could well adopt a defensive approach, but insists that not even a PSV goal will decide the tie outright. "If we score it will be very difficult for them but not impossible. Arsenal play creative football and could score three times because they have that sort of quality."

    Koeman confidence
Koeman scored FC Barcelona's winner in the 1992 European Champion Clubs' Cup final at Wembley and is confident he can leave London with a smile on his face again. In three matches against Wenger, first as coach of AFC Ajax and now with PSV, the Dutchman is yet to lose and has conceded only one goal. A cautious strategy has paid dividends, and might once more as Arsenal are forced to chase the game. "It's very important for Arsenal that Henry plays because he's the face of the team," Koeman said. "It's their most important game of the season and in those games you're willing to take more risks."

    Probable teams
Arsenal: Jens Lehmann; Johan Djourou, Kolo Touré, Williams Gallas, Gaël Clichy; Aleksandr Hleb, Cesc Fabregas, Gilberto, Fredrik Ljungberg; Thierry Henry, Emmanuel Adebayor.

PSV: Heurelho Gomes; Jason Culina, Carlos Salcido, Alex, Sun Xiang; Edison Méndez, Timmy Simons, Phillip Cocu, Ibrahim Afellay; Aro
