St. Pauli (brown) and Hansa Rostock fans (blue) riot after a match in St. Pauli last week. St. Pauli won 3-0. Over 5,000 Rostock fans and 2,100 police officers were involved.
This weekend, St. Pauli lost and dropped out of a three-team race for third place and a promotion playoff. The other two teams, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Paderborn, are tied with 61 points. They play in the final match of the regular season next week, with the winner going to the promotion playoff.
Hansa Rostock also lost and is doomed to relegation to the third division.
Last week, I showed video of the massive police operations when St. Pauli visited Rostock in November.
