The 22-year-old Argentina international was stripped of the club captaincy by new coach Emerson Leao, a former Brazil international goalkeeper, because he did not speak Portuguese.
The move is said to have soured the already tense relationship between Tevez and Leao and the highly-rated player seems ready to move to European football.
Jose Mourinho spied on Tevez as Corinthians bowed out of the Copa Libertadores before the summer but the Chelsea manager is unlikely to make a move for the star after landing Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.
This means Manchester United are the leading Premiership club chasing his signature - with Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly keen to land the striker as a replacement for Ruud van Nistelrooy.
AC Milan, however, see Tevez as the ideal replacement for Shevchenko, while Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also fingering their wallets in anticipation.
Tevez, who is valued at about Stg20 million, said at the weekend: "This may have been my last game in the Corinthians shirt.
"I would like to stay but I have to think about what is better for me and my family."
His agent Adrian Ruocco added: "Carlos wants to go to Europe."</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
