Arsenal boss Wenger made his comments after the official's report stated that Emmanuel Adebayor aimed a punch at Chelsea's Frank Lampard in the defeat.
"Questioning the linesman's integrity is completely wrong and completely out of order," Barber told BBC Five Live.
"It's not the correct thing to say by Arsene Wenger."
Barber added: "It's an emotional game but there's a time and place for those sort of comments.

Wenger accused the Football Association of having double standards following a controversial Carling Cup final.
Adebayor and Gunners team-mate Kolo Toure were sent off, along with Chelsea's Mikel John Obi, after a fracas late in the game.
Adebayor was found guilty of violent conduct and banned for three games by the FA, despite an appeal by the Gunners.
Toure was suspended for three games because of his dismissal while fellow defender Emmanuel Eboue was retrospectively banned for three matches after video evidence showed him throwing a punch at Wayne Bridge.
Wenger said: "We commit the lowest fouls in the league but we are the most punished. We are entitled to get the same treatment as everybody else.

"We are guided to win, we love to be fair, but to be treated like we have in this case is not acceptable."
The FA has asked Wenger to explain his comments about the assistant referee and were keen to clarify what was stated in the subsequent report.
"The report states that Adebayor's attitude was aggressive, that he shoved into Ricardo Carvalho and that he aimed a punch at Lampard. It does not state that Adebayor struck Lampard," said an FA statement.
Fulham boss Chris Coleman said he understood his counterpart's frustrations.
"It's not easy to swallow when you get a bad decision against you," he told BBC Five Live's Sportsweek programme.
"We get frustrated with the inconsistencies.
"What disappoints me is that, as managers, we have to come out and apologise but you never see the other party apologise."
Vice-chairman of the League Managers' Association, Frank Clark, added: "Managers have a responsibility to conduct themselves in the right way.
"I don't think Wenger lost control in the final but he used an unfortunate choice of words afterwards." </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
