Fans of Bundesliga 2 leader SpVgg Greuther Furth party in front of their stadium after their team has a promotion to the big time all but clinched.
Furth has never been in the first league since the modern Bundesliga was formed in 1963.
With three rounds remaining, Furth has 67 points, Eintracht Frankfurt 65, and Paderborn 58. Furth's lead of nine points and a better goal difference of +31 over Paderborn all but mathematically assures Furth first or second place and automatic promotion.
The party in Furth started about 8 pm local time after mid-table Dynamo Dresden beat fourth place Fortuna Dusseldorf (57 points) 2-1 in a nationally televised game.
The players will have their celebration Friday in a cramped, temporary dressing room at FSV Frankfurt. The main stand at FSV's stadium has been torn down and will eventually be re-built.
Furth is located on the outskirts of Nuremburg.
