Jamaica's promising Under-17 football team has resumed their preparation campaign for final round CONCACAF World Youth qualifiers with another round of training sessions which began on February 17.
The Young Boyz, who had their most recent sessions Thursday and yesterday, will stage one this morning starting at 6:30 at Stadium East field.
The Boyz' recent victory over defending Under-17 world champions Mexico at the Harbour View mini-stadium in a two-match friendly series, has triggered a wave of hope that the juniors could qualify for their second world tournament - having done so back in 1999 in New Zealand.
That hope is furthered by the fact that Jamaica will hosts Group B of the final qualifying tournament from April 28 to May 6. They host Canada, Costa Rica, Trinidad & Tobago and the USA. The top three finishers from the group will qualify to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup which will be held in South Korea from August 18 to September 9.
Along with the intense training programme being pursued by coach David Hunt, special focus will be placed on the nutrition of the players.
The players continue to board at the players' residence, while continuing their education at schools in Kingston.
