The regularity of this dilemma will continue ..... No longer will we be relegated to scouting the lower tiers....

Daniel Johnson update. Move to Preston NE on a permanent deal.

Good move for the young man he needs to be playing first team football at this stage of his career. I think this youth is a very good player.

When a 22 year old moves the occasional Senior EPL team squad as a youngster to League One it Seems like he is not fulfilling the potential as they expected.

It looks that way from afar, however Villa have struggled over the past few seasons and because they are under pressure to get results all the time it is difficult for them to give their young players a go. Johnson has ability and is good enough to play at a higher level than League 1

So from near, bright 22 year old prospects are usually sent to League One?

Sending young players out on loan to League 1 and League 2 is normal practice for Premier League Clubs, it is just a way to get them much needed game time
and is no slight on their ability. A lot of the good young players in the Premier League have spent time on loan in the lower leagues at some stage of their development. Tottenham's Ryan Mason is a prime example he spent last season on loan at Swindon Town in League 1 and this season he is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Harry Kane, Berahino, Lallana, Schneiderlin all spent time playing in the lower leagues.

On loan. He has been sold, which leads me to believe Villa doesn't think he is realizing the potential.
