Simeon Jackson: Staying on his toes
Sky Bet
Norwich City striker Simeon Jackson has revealed that he has dreams of appearing for Canada at the London Olympics this summer.
The 24-year-old, who has started five of the Canaries' previous six games prior to the weekend Premier League defeat at Newcastle, would be eligible to play at the finals in late July as one of three over-age players at the tournament.
And the Jamaica-born Jackson, who has played in five divisions of English football, admits he would simply relish a hectic summer schedule.
"I'm at a young age and I want to play as many games as I can," he told the Eastern Daily Press. "I just have to keep going and enjoy it because it's going to end one day, so why not enjoy it now?
"They're trying to qualify this month. I think that's going to be a younger squad so I wish them all the best and if they do make it, hopefully I'll jump on the bandwagon.
"We've also got a few games coming up (with the seniors), one friendly and some qualifiers, but I don't really want to look at that right now. I just want to focus on Norwich."
Fighting
City are bidding to end a four-game winless league run when struggling Wolves head to Carrow Road this weekend and Jackson claims the Norfolk club will be just as desperate for the points.
"We're fighting to stay in the league as well," he said. "Maybe not as much as the other teams but we want to make sure we get across the line and don't get dragged into anything.
"It's for us to keep our heads on and make sure we stay focused. We're just trying to get as many points as we can and until someone else tells us we're safe then so be it.
"There are still a few games to go and a lot of points to play for so we definitely have to stay on our toes and make sure we get the job done.
"We have been a surprise package in the league and I guess we are becoming more known and that's going to make it more difficult in games.
"But it's something we have to address and adapt to."
