USA clubs advance to 2007 Champions’ Cup Semifinals
The USA clubs advanced to the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup™ after D.C. United and Houston Dynamo defeated Honduras’ CD Olimpia and Puntarenas FC of Costa Rica, respectively, in the 2007 Quarterfinal Series on Thursday evening.
Goals by Paul Dalglish and Kelly Gray led the Houston Dynamo to a 2:0 victory over visiting Puntarenas FC in the second-leg of the Quarterfinal Series 2 at the Aggie Soccer Complex in College Station, Texas, and gave them the overall triumph of 2:1 on aggregate.
Elsewhere, Luciano Emilio scored twice and Christian Gomez added another for the host D.C. United in the 3:2 win over CD Olimpia in the second-leg at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., which resulted in the home team claiming the Series 4 on aggregate score of 7:3.
