  • Who is your favorite club team player?

Forumites, who is your favorite player for your club team (Barca, Liverpool, Spurts, Milan, Cissy...whichever big European club you support, not one you DON'T support) over the last 10 years and why?

For me - Dirk Kuyt. Why? Simple - work rate and attitude. He is respectful, responsible, has high integrity and a clear love for the club. He is a non-controversial hard-working player who could arguably have been a "great" player if his youth team coach had forced him to learn to use his left foot. That weakness (and maybe his slow pace) has really let him down, but a big man all the same.

barca: tough one [figo/ronaldinho/xavi]; arsenal [bergkamp]; ac milan [george weah/desailly]; psg [okocha] ajax [litmaenen].

bergkamp ... i don't know of a more technically sound footballer who made it all seem so easy ....

Mine would be Alex Song, always give a hundred percent, always calm when all around are losing their heads and will be the best holding midfielder in the world within 2 years. A real team player!!

For me .... (Jangle gonna have a fit!) ... a toss up between Rio and Rooney! Rio on his good day, even though he has lost some pace, not even water can pass. When he is at the back, he brings some stability and worse, I've always regarded him the best defender of his generation from that country .... surely top 3 in the world.

I would have to go with Rooney though .... here is a dude that will play ANYWHERE for the team. I recall a few seasons back the keeper got red carded and he was insisting he wanted to keep. He plays on the wing, he plays central midfield, he sets up his team mates, he scores goal ..... team under pressure, he drops back and defend.

                  Jermaine Defoe

Hardly ever starts but he is the leading scorer with 15 goals, Ade is second and starts almost every game.

If we ever need a saviour he always comes to the rescue.

His games to goals record is astounding.

Btw gamma you know Weah left Milan in 2000 so that's more than 10 years but I agree with that pick loved him as a player but as a human being I liked him even more.

                      Objection!!!!!!

You realize that Defoe started 4 FA Cup games to Ade 1? When Spurs was playing Europa League play off and Defoe scoring, Ade wasn't in the team yet.

Finally, goals alone don't tell the whole story Scaly ...

Overall Ade scored 12 goals and have 11 assists. Defoe scored 15 and have 6 assists. When unuh ripped Newcastle to shreds, who set up the first 4 goals?

Great lazie............................................. .but those players don't qualify; recall the question was: Forumites, who is your favorite player for your club team (Barca, Liverpool, Spurts, Milan, Cissy...whichever big European club you support, not one you DON'T support) over the last 10 years and why?

Okay okay...partisanship aside, I am surprised you didn't put Scholes or Giggs in there. To me Giggs is honorable lad who unfortunately plays on the wrong side...but skillful and hardworking.

..respect both players ... Rooney is like a driving force ... MU is different when he is playing. Yuh think Blackburn would have won if Rooney was playing? Yuh recall a few seasons ago when he was scoring for fun, got injured in the last minute of the game against Bayern Munich, MU lost the the tie on away goal but he tried playing through the pain ... he ended up missing the Chelsea game that they won and went on to win the league ....there is a reason Messi rates him as one of the best in the EPL.
