Sound like someone did his homework.
"Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)

He starts out saying "he did score 1,283 (?) goals" then ends by saying they were "mythical"... I don't trust this kind of reporting... the tone is too prejudicial and therefore not convincing for me... what is an "unofficial " friendly anyway? and who is the official counter of goals? the player? or the FAs?

Be that as it may, his international goal scoring ratio being "mortal" is disputable... that demonstrates an almost superhuman effort.

And why does he say Pele is not being honest... i just checked wikipedia (if you trust it) and what he says in the article is all there more or less, so dis bredda to me just being sensationalist and trying to get some publicity off of Pele... his international records speaks for itself, PLUS what I SAW with my own eyes on TV... he was more than special!

Pele never denied any of the 'facts' laid out.
...and what I do know is, Pele the greatest footballer I have seen!!!

What are you talking about? There is nothing to hide most of Pele's games are on youtube. The 1970 the objective for the Brasilians weren't for Pele to score but to draw away the two man markers (Fachetti and another) it worked like a charm hence the Calos Albertos goal (which was well rehearsed). It's sad when people with agenda present half truths as facts.

Pele is right; the WC is the highest level. Messi was there in 2010 and did not perform. Yes Messi is doing wonders at the club level but if he wants to walk with the immortals of the game, the WC is the stage to perform.

One can also argue that Messi at the club level is supported by the best supporting cast in history. I feel it for the youth, he will never be considered "great" like Pele and Maradona unless he wins a world cup.

Not really. one of the things is that most clubs teams come to watch barca play. They don't go after them and play them. This is why the Brasil coach keeps playing Danny alves and Danny is a weak link in Brasil's D, Danny can only go forward and leaves his centarl defenders exposed. The last Brasilian backline was about club ball. (excluding Marcello). Oh BTW I will be in NJ to watch Brasil against Arg. and if King Binho is not there is prablems

Mi fork out serious money fi see Binho, dinho and neymar. All mi know say; a coach days numbered if..............

Oh back to Messi and winning a WC. Well he should start out by scoring there first. Eusebio is remembered for his goals and he didn't win a WC.

I understand but I am not saying it is fair. Eusebio - as good as he was - is never going to be held in the same esteem as Pele or Maradona. Neither will Messi if he doesn't win a world cup. Enjoy the match - I might end up going myself.

Agreed but he will be hard pressed to win it in Brasil. If Messi does he will be truly seen as one of the world's greatest.

What I didn't like in the last WC was the blaming of his teamates and coach for his poor performance (some on this site even suggested that Arg. gets the Barca coach). Let's see 2014.

Yes sir if you are there let me know; finally get to meet the man.

I have to pull some strings on the home front, but I am trying.
