CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh midfielders Lester Peltier and Jason Marcano didn’t return to Trinidad as expected on Monday as English Third Division Club Millwall FC decided to keep both players till the end of the week on trial.
Both Marcano and Peltier left Trinidad on Valentine’s Day for England accompanied by Coach Terry Fenwick of CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh, Millwall’s Director Jeff Bernige, Youth Director Joe Little along with other officials of the English club and were expected to return over the weekend.
On Monday night Coach Fenwick returned to Trinidad without both players and explained to ‘ttproleague.com’ that Millwall was impressed by their performances and decided to keep them till the end of the week.
“They have done so well over the ten days trials with Millwall FC that the coaches at the Club have decided to keep them until the end of the week. Both Lester and Marcano have been training with the first team and have really impressed at that level.”
“They have played a couple of closed doors practice matches with the senior team and really making the best of them as I have heard from the coaches at the Club,” said the Englishman.
According to Fenwick 18 year old Lester Peltier and 23 year old Jason Marcano is now expected to return to Trinidad on Thursday and strongly believes that his players will earn contracts with the English Third Division Club.
“Peltier and Marcano should return to Trinidad on Thursday and from there I would await a call from Millwall FC by the end of the week. It is very likely that both Marcano and Peltier could earn contracts with the English Club. They have had great performances over the period with the Club impressing the coaches and this is why I strongly believe they would be successful at earning English contracts,” ended the former England player.
Coach Fenwick would now shift his focus back to Pro League Club CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh as they expect to return to the training grounds on Thursday to begin preparations for the 2007 season.
The 2006 Courts Pro Bowl and Lucozade Sport Big Six winners San Juan Jabloteh finished third behind Champions B Mobile Joe Public and runners up Vibe CT 105 W Connection for the 2006 League title.
