Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain made a check on Porto starlet Anderson earlier this week.
The 18 year-old was scouted by Begiristain in action against Vitoria Setubal, where the attacking midfielder scored in the 3-0 win.
Anderson is regarded as one of the new great hopes of Brazilian football and came through the same club, Porto Alegre, as Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho.
Begiristain was first alerted to Anderson during last year's U17 World Championships in Peru.
