Is Zambian football back to where it was 19 years ago?. We all remember, with great sadness, when Zambia, one of the most creative and innovative teams in the world were preparing to shock-and-awe the world almost 2 decades ago, perished in a tragic plane crash. Having won the African Cup of Nations against a very capable Ivorian team, albeit by penalties, I can't help but wonder if the magic of Zambian football is back. I suspect that it is, but next year we will see how they defend the ANC, and hopefully we will see them in Brazil in 2014 for the WC.

i have been rooting for them all year ...... i think the WCQ will show if they are the real deal.

If they are truely back, then qualifying for the WC shouldn't be too difficult for the Zambians.Comment

yes. emotion is a helluva thing and they approached this tournament with great emotion. it is easier to sustain that emotion over the life of a tournament (3/4 weeks )than over a 2 year WCQ campaign ... make no mistake though ... they are a VERY good side!
