    Match Report

Sheffield Wednesday suffered a disappointing defeat at Luton Town on
Tuesday night, losing 3-2 after taking a first half lead through
    Deon Burton.

Brian Laws' side should have capitalised on their first half
dominance but went in 1-1 at the break. Luton punished the visitors
for lapses at the back though, Tommy Spurr putting through his own
net after Lee Bullen miscued a clearance.
Glenn Whelan pulled the Owls back level for a moment but failing to
deal with a corner cost Wednesday when former striker Drew Talbot
    scored the winner.

Injuries again affected Brian Laws' team selection, the Wednesday
boss handing former Bradford City man Jermaine Johnson his full
debut, replacing Wade Small, out with a knee problem, on the right
    wing.
The only other change for the Owls though was the return of
influential midfielder Glenn Whelan replacing Frenchman Joann Folly.

Barely a minute had elapsed when Johnson stretched his legs for the
first time and broke free from the Luton rearguard. The Jamaican
soon showed his renowned pace but he raced into the penalty area his
shot flew just over Marlon Beresford's crossbar.
It was a bright start from the visitors and Burton opened up the
depleted home defence, missing club captain Chris Coyne, when loan
defender Watson played him in with a good diagonal ball. Burton
squared for strike partner MacLean but the danger was cut out at the
    near post.

Moments later Chris Brunt pulled away down the left and fired in a
good low cross, which Kenny Lunt met well at the near post only for
Beresford to save at point blank range.
Less than seven minutes had elapsed and Wednesday were showing their
true intentions. Luton however looked like a toothless animal and

      RE: JJ's debut

I recall watching Skysports one evening when the anchor said, "Look at this!"

It was JJ while playing for Bradford, picking up the ball just outside his penalty area and went a run, going by opponents as if they weren't there. A majestic play (Ray Hudson would say) took him pass the 2 central defenders and he was in the box with only the keeper, .....only after all the hard work, he kicked the ball over the cross bar.

If that boy could score goals regularly, then ... only then.

EXACTLY J.Jhasnt been in the right enviroment to grow , moving from club to club because of his valued pace is killing other aspects of his game that needs to be developed .

Really? Lets see. JJ was at the same Bolton that Bibi is still playing for. How come Bibo was able to grow at that club?

It look like yuh love mek excuse.

<DIV>Very rare that you going to get both things - running and passing (shooting) - with any quality. By the time he sprints 40 yards he doesn't have the strength to do anything else. He is going to have to cut down on the 40 yarders if he wants the other parts of his game to improve.</DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV>And does he plan to play like that for 90 minutes?</DIV>

Burton rose above his marker and directed a text book header into
the net, scoring his third goal in as many games.

Burton scored, textbook as usual, and the feature is JJ. sigh

Does JJ normally play on the right wing or as a forward?

Same reason Adejabor , Cisse,Van Guy soon to be ETO or Ronaldinho move and are about to move , the enviroment just is not conducive to growth , in J.J case Big sam really erred .

And did Drogba, Henry and Shev dribble 40 yards several times during one game while they were "adjusting"?
