Cuban defector Galindo signs with Chivas USA
<HR width="100%" noShade SIZE=1>CARSON, Calif. -- Former Cuban national team forward Maykel Galindo, who defected to the United States in 2005, signed with Major League Soccer's Chivas USA on Monday.
Galindo, 26, defected after scoring Cuba's only goal in a 3-1 loss to Costa Rica at Seattle's Qwest Field on July 9, 2005.
Galindo was granted political asylum and signed with the Seattle Sounders of the United Soccer Leagues' First Division.
