  • Did anyone see the Inter v. Udinese game?

What a drama. Inter really have lost their way, losing 1-0 in an all out clash. Both teams missed penalties in the last 5 minutes. Udinese is now tied on points with AC Milan at the top of the table but I believe second on GD. The only thing I can't stand about the Serie A is the amount of girly-girl business them man go on with faking injury. They should have a law that says you have to stay off the field for double the amount of time you are down injured.

Wrenk!!! To blame Rafa for their demise is the height of facetiness. Don't tell me you join the conspiracy to blame Rafa for all wrongs...I bet you blame him for Sunderland too. At least you realise he is the "great Rafa".

Paul, do you think if Mourinho had stayed at Inter they would be the shambles they are today?

Yes. They are not spending enough money to keep up and they have too many old players. Cambiaso, Lucio, Zanetti, Maicon, Forlan, Samuel etc. etc. are all over 30...Zanetti is almost 40!!! New blood badly needed.

I do not agree, while they have an ageing squad they have enough quality there to do better than they are doing now. Dont forget they got forlan, Sneijder, Motta,Coutinho,Alvarez ,Stankovic and such the like. If Mourinho was there he would still have one the title last season!!, hiring Rafa was a bad decision.

Rafa wasn't the problem - Mourinho was disruptive to the team AFTER he left making it difficult for his old nemesis to enter the team with any kind of unencumbrances. That said - the HOWL!!! Yes they have youths, but when you start the game with 6 players of 30, and a skipper with 38 years on him, you are playing with fire. Anyway, keep in mind that some of us still rate Rafa, he has never had the free wheeling kind of check book that Mourinho and others have had.

Is Mourinho made Rafa lose games to relegation teams and then Leanardo came in and did a much better job? Stop make excuse for Rafa.

All I'm saying is that the players got very close to Mourinho. When Rafa took over, he still referred to the team as his team and was disruptive to Rafa being integrated with the new team. No new manager should have to deal with that. Now is that the "cause" of Inter losing games, no, but it sure wouldn't have been easy. Rafa got a bad break, that's all.

Mourinho saw a bunch of old central defenders and played deep. Rafa take them a try play a high line and then goals start to leak.

Paul, Rafa's problem is he cant manage without spending extortionate sums of money so in my opinion he is not a top manager. Mourinho left him a treble winning team (first treble winning team in Italian history) and within 6 months he got the sack. When Mourinho took the job at Inter he only made 3 signings in his first season (Muntari,Quaresma and Mancini) he worked with the players that he inherited and he went and won the double earning him the right to bring in players like Milito,Motta,Lucio,Sneijder and Etoo and getting rid of Ibrahimovic and the rest is history. That is why Mourinho is in a top job and Rafa is unemployed.

Look at the numbers more closely - I bet you will see that over the course of their careers Rafa has spent FAAAAAAAAAAARRRR less than Mourinho and second, tally up the trophies won and you'll find that Rafa is among the top managers in Europe.

Paul please stop defending the indefensible. Jose Mourinho is the man;-

In eight seasons of club management, including an eight month sabbatical in 2007–08, Mourinho has led his club to win its domestic league six times, the UEFA Champions League twice and the UEFA Cup once. Since 2002, Mourinho has not gone a full calendar year without winning at least one trophy.

Wait!!! I didn't say Mourinho didn't have the honours...what I am trying to tell you is that Rafa didn't mash up Inter. Their demise has more to do with the Chairman and his shenanigans (e.g. keeping the spine of the team past their "sell by" dates). The only thing I say against Mourinho is that he messed with the Inter players heads after he left, which is effery in my book. He hates Rafa (true we bounce him out of Europe 2x) and used his influence on the players to bad mind poor Rafa - no joke.

So yes, Mourinho clearly has the championships but you can't deny he (like most coaches who do in the modern era) have also had the money. If you go back to the olden days when all matches kicked off at 12:00 Noon on a Saturday, and all tv money (except Europe) was shared across the 4 divisions, you'll see a much more impressive standard of coaching. For my money, former Liverpool man Matt Busby, Shankley, Paisley, Jock Stein, Brian Clough and that lot were to be praised far more than the modern manager who have an unfair monetary advantage in their favour...Mourinho chief among them.
