<P class=StoryText align=justify>Jamaica's Under-17 side and defending world champions Mexico will square off in the first of their two-match series this evening at the Harbour View mini-stadium, starting at 6:00.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Both teams are preparing for their final round CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, set for next month.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Coach of the young Reggae Boyz, David Hunt, said the game is of great importance to his squad as it will give them an opportunity to test some of their strategies against world-class opponents.<P class=StoryText align=justify>"It's a practice game so it will allow us to put into practice the strategies that we have been working on throughout the last two months and to see how well the players have adopted to it against top-level opposition," Hunt said yesterday.<P class=StoryText align=justify>He said the team has shown improvement and understanding in some recent games against local sides, but the matches against the world champions are what he will be using as his benchmark.<P class=StoryText align=justify>"We have played three games recently. We won 2-0 against Duhaney Park's Under-20s. We then played Harbour View's Under-21s and defeated them 2-1 and Tivoli's Under-21s and beat them 1-0.<P class=StoryText align=justify>"So we have seen signs of things that we're working on, but to play against the defending champions... would give us a better idea of where we are," he declared.<P class=StoryText align=justify>"We're looking forward to these two games against Mexico to test if our strategies are working and to see how well the players are adopting to them," he said. "We played them in Trinidad and they defeated us 2-1 in a very competitive game.<P class=StoryText align=justify>"Now we're at home but although sometimes that works against us because the players come under more pressure. More likely the support that we will get from the Jamaican populace will help them," he said.<P class=StoryText align=justify>The core group of players have been together for the past two years, but this will be their first international fixture at home, and Hunt says he wants as many players as possible to get a taste of the experience.<P class=StoryText align=justify>"... It's a strong team and I expect them to play with conviction and confidence; however, my main concern is to see how best they will put into practice the strategies we have been working on," he said.<P class=StoryText align=justify>The Jamaicans host the final-round qualifiers from April 21-29 seeking one of the two top spots available from CONCACAF Group B, which also includes Canada, Costa Ri
