I am glad they got beat.

After Donavons fantastic goal and it wa one of his best the goalie tried to stomp on Eddie Johnson who was running by him to celebrate with Donavon, if he had caught him who knows how hurt Johnson would have been.

After the game Hugo Sanchez and his team didn't have the decency toshake hands. Couple this with the Obama chants a few years ago and we have the worlds worst and classless team.

I wish them nothing but bad luck and bad wishes.

Not supporting the actions of the Mexicans, but you have to understand that there is a big rivalry between both countries.

Mexico never likes to lose to the US and vice-versa. The same thing applies with England and Scotland and ofcourse with Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago so nothing is new.

Like I said I don't agree with the actions of Mexican players but I distinctly remember Landon Donovan a few yrs back blatantly ****ing on the field of the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City and alot of Mexicans was incensed by that.

Donovan even got the USSF official to lie for him. Make of that what you will.(tdown)

        What??

Can you post a link that might better explain this claim?

Do a search. It seems to have happened. Some feel it's the norm for people playing soccer.

It "seems" to have happened, eh?

Yeah, sure, that sounds definitive enough for me.

            Nice link, too.

                I looked and found nothing.

Let's see if Warlord can back up his claims.

The reason the Mexicans hate Donovan is very simple: he scores against them with an almost monotonous regularity.

                That's why.

i do remember seeing donovan ****ing on a field during the warmup before an international...i do not however recall whether it was at the azteca...nevertheless donovan has made some very incendiary remarks about the mexicans....while i do nt believe that the remarkswere over the top, it may have been borderline. certainly to the point of fuelling an intense dislike for him by the mexicans and the fact of him scoring and the us winning only makes it worse.

Although not soccer related, the issue of illegal immigration/border crossings has heated up over the past year. I saw an prematch interview with Borgetti and he made mention of "issues bigger than the game" when playing the US. Sure, Sanchez's behavior was over the top. But that's what you get with a rivalry, outrageous behavior by both the winners and the losers. That's why fans love rivalries.

You know I understand that there will be sparks. I understand that passion would run high given the rivalry and frankly the various disparities that exist between both countries. I even understand that in the heat of the game, a goal keeper lacking discipline and being completely frustratedcould attempt to do such a thing.

However, given an unrepentent "morning after" interview, I too wish them nothing good in 2010 campaign and gold cup. Frankly, I have not rooted for Mexico in CONCACAF play for over 6 years.

Also When Ansil Elcock(?) (T&T defenfer) commited that terrible foul on one of their players, the bigotry and disdain issued in his direction was totally uncalled for.

                      So, I echo your sentiments.
