The former Barcelona youngster believes it will be tough for the Catalans to snatch him away from Manchester United.

"It is not impossible, but very complicated that Cristiano Ronaldo moves to the Camp Nou," said Fabregas.

"They [Manchester United] will not let him go easily, and will request a huge amount of money from whoever signs him in the future.

"Cristiano is the most popular player at United and the fans are enchanted with him now in spite of the criticism he received after the World Cup."

However, he did go on to admit that a player of Ronaldo's quality would do well at Barcelona, despite the presence of Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Messi.

"At Barcelona he would have to fight for a place with players like Messi, Eto'o and Ronaldinho," said the teenager. "For that reason it may be difficult.

"But Ronaldo is a great player. Great players can walk into any club."

There have been reports in two Barcelona dailies that technical director Txiki Begiristain met Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendez in London, the back-drop being the Brazil-Portugal friendly. Barca share a great rapport with Mendez, who also represents Deco and Marquez.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
