3 that can play across the midfield and wings ,multifaceted.
As an attacking midfielder, left winger and right winger and a central midfielder.

2 strikers that can also operate in a multi faceted roles.Shelton and Fuller are fighting for a bench role,its obvious one will be excluded in this campaign.

In my view we have a midfield and forward problem which requires depth quality and players that can interchange roles in this campaign.

We don't have it.

Interesting take X. We need to strengthen the whole squad, but our most immediate needs are in the midfield and defense..not the strikers (although we need them as well). Additionally, a fully fit and in form Fuller is still a better option than the strikers we have been using: unfortunately, none of the up and comers have shown the class(on the field) of a Fuller or King.

If Tappa thinks along your lines , just write off the campaign.A fully fit and in form Fuller is better than the options we have now ? ....Fuller or King ?

1)King has a temperment that is well documented !

2)Fuller has a goal scoring ratio that is embarrasing and is injury prone always seem to be finding form in our campaign.

Wouldnt it be wise to plan for the above scenarios ? search for a strikers in the U.K that can replace the two ?

2nd you claim our problem is the defence , deceptive , if you dont have a midfield expect the defence to buckle under immense pressure, ask liverpool 09/10 season and arsenal at present.Granted Arsenal needs a defence.That is the illusion no defence ..disagree.

I dont want to turn this in a Fuller debate vs Cummings or Ryan Johnson or Richards.

You are right we will need to find replacements for Fuller and King as they are getting up there in age...unfortunately what we currently have is not in the same class (Cummings was getting close before injuries): still the current group is decent compared to our other needs. You are also corrrect about the mid leaving more challenges for the defense...but that still doesn't mean that the defense is any good. Shoot our captain can't even break into his MLS teams starting lineup when there are injuries to a centre half; we not talking a prem. side, a MLS side.

Yo X the biggest irony about what you said is remember the 98 campaign...up until the semifinal round Simoes was playing a bag of experimental 11 but didn't find the right mix until he found Fitzroy Simpson and then Burton and Paul Hall up front, used Bibi as the left back instead of Messam and Frank Sinclair and Shorty rotated the right back which pretty much fits your 5 player requirement......
