  • Daniel Gordon's Team In Historic Local Derby Next Sunday

Daniel Gordon's FSV Frankfurt will play Eintracht Frankfurt next Sunday in a local derby for the first time since 1962. The start time is 7:30 am US Eastern

How the two teams avoided playing each other in competion for 50 years I do not know. Eintracht has been a mainstay of the modern Bundesliga since the league was formed in 1963, while FSV has been in the lower leagues since being promoted to Bundesliga 2 in 2008-09.

Though FSV is the home team, the game has been moved from FSV's cozy 11,000-seat Volksbank Stadion to Eintracht's 51,000-seat Commerzbank Arena, which was the site of the Women's World Cup final between the USA and Japan.

FSV said on its website last week that more than 40,000 tickets have been sold.

Earlier today, FSV ********ed away two more points in a 1-1 draw at Ingolstadt 04. Our dear friend Edson Buddle headed in a corner kick to tie the game for Ingolstadt barely after he entered the game as a substitute. After four games, FSV has three points on three draws and a loss, and Ingolstadt has two.

"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."
