    CARIBBEAN CUP CHANGE
2012 finals to be played in June-July

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica -- The finals of the 2012 Caribbean Cup will be played in June-July instead of their usual late fall-early winter timeframe, the Caribbean Football Union decided at its annual congress on Tuesday.

The move is designed to incorporate the finals of Caribbean nations’ championship into the off-season period of most European leagues and allow for the availability of more players to participate in the competition.

The tournament decides the CFU’s four berths in the biennial CONCACAF Gold Cup. After this year's Gold Cup, the next continental competition will be held in 2013.

Okay! The Reggae Boyz will kick off their first qualifier in June 2012. Which means the 2012 Digicel Cup will likely shift to July 2012 and we will have our overseas-based players.
Now depending on the schedule next year if we play the US or El Salvador first. Will Tappa and the Gammas have to use all the overseas-based players or mix-up the squad. Because, not to diss the Caribbean team that will advance. But even our tired overseas-based Reggae Boyz would beat them.
