Jamaica's Under-23 team will today play newly promoted National Premier League outfit Highgate FC for a second time in a week at Winchester Park, St George's College, as they finalise preparations for the Caribbean leg of CONCACAF'S London 2012 Olympic qualifiers in Suriname.

The match, which is slated to get under way at 4 p.m, will see the junior Reggae Boyz trying to avenge a 1-0 loss to the St Mary-based Highgate on Wednesday at Gray's Inn.

It is also expected to give head coach Alfredo Montesso and assistant coach, Luciano Gama, another opportunity to look at a couple of new players, some of whom recently joined the squad, including the overseas-based midfielder Evan Taylor.

Taylor, who has a number of senior caps, is one of several midfielders who were named in the team's 18-man squad, which will depart the country on Monday en route Suriname, where the qualifiers will be held.

    The right combinations
"This is just another opportunity for us, the coaching staff, to take a look at the players as we work towards finding the right combinations during the qualifiers," said Montesso.

"We like what we see so far, given the talent pool that we have and the way the players have been responding. It is just for us to now see how some of the new players like Taylor, who just joined us, look," he added.
Among those Montesso and company will be looking to for outstanding performances from on the South American mainland are a number of players who narrowly missed out in FIFA 2010 Under-20 World Cup qualifiers in 2009.

They include Andre Blake (goalkeeper), Leaunghn Williams, Keithy Simpson, Andrae Campbell, Andre Clennon, Kemal Malcom, and Alanzo Adlam.

SQUAD: Andre Blake, Gariece McPherson, Leaunghn Williams, Theo Brown, Jason Watson, Andrae Campbell, Keithy Simpson, Andrew Vanzie, Neco Brett, Ricardo Morris, Romeo Parkes, Andre Clennon, Jason Johnson, Andrae Bernal, Kemal Malcolm, Alanzo Adlam, Davion Thorpe, Evan Taylor.

OFFICIALS: Wayne Thompson (Head of delegation), Alfredo Montesso (head coach), Luciano Gama (assistant coach/trainer), Joao Brigatti (goalkeeper coach), Howard Bell (team manager), Dr. Martin Garwood (team doctor), Lloyd Holm (equipment manager).
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
