ELEVEN members from Jamaica's 2009 CONCACAF Under-20 World Cup qualifying squad and three members from the 2011 team have been included in the country's final 18-man Under-23 Olympic squad, which will leave the island Monday for their first-round CFU qualifiers from August 3 to 7.
In the team's final warm-up match before embarking on their Olympics journey, the team was defeated 0-1 by newly-promoted Premier League team Highgate at Gray's Inn in Annotto Bay yesterday. Christopher Harris scored the all-important goal.

The Jamaicans will contest a group including St Vincent and the Grenadines, Cayman Islands and hosts Suriname. The top team will advance to the CONCACAF round where they will face other group winners Trinidad & Tobago, Cuba and St Kitts & Nevis.
The 18-man Jamaican squad will be headed by former senior team outcasts Evan Taylor and Davion Thorpe.
The two former Reno and national youth midfielders, who play for Charleston Battery in the US, played for the national team during Rene Simoes second stint in charge of the country's football, but were shunned when the campaign flopped and were seen as not ready for the senior league.
The other players from the 2009 squad are goalkeepers Andre Blake, Gariece McPherson, Levaughn Williams, Theo Brown, Keithy Simpson, Andre Campbell, Romeo Parkes, Andre Clennon and Alanzo Adlam.
The three players from the 2011 Under-20 squad are Jason Watson, Neco Brett and Ricardo Morris, while Andrew Vanzie, Kemal Malcolm, Andrae Bernal and Jason Johnson make up the rest of the squad.

National representatives Davion Thorpe and Evan Taylor head a strong Jamaican 18-man squad for the Caribbean Football Union Under-23 qualifiers for next year's Olympic Games in London.
The Jamaican delegation is expected to leave the island on August 1 for the tournament, which will be held in Suriname.
The Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore-coached young Reggae Boyz, will open their account at the championship against St Vincent and the Grenadines on August 3. Their second game is against the Cayman Islands two days later, after which they will close out their campaign against the hosts on August 7.
The top-placed team from this Group A, will join Group B winner Trinidad and Tobago; Group C Winner Cuba and Group D Winner St Kitts and Nevis to the next Caribbean qualifying round. Two of these four will qualify for the CONCACAF round.
Taylor currently plies his trade in the United States Soccer League (USL) for the Charleston Battery. Thorpe is a senior member of the Premier League outfit Reno.
The team also includes Jason Johnson and André Clennon, who both have senior-team experience under their belts. Johnson played for Jamaica on February 2010 against Argen-tina, while Clennon featured against El Salvador in March 2011.

As part of their build-up for the tournament, the young Reggae Boyz played out a 1-1 tie with a Manchester High Invitational team on July 21, then defeated Seba United 2-0, on July 24. Well I hope for is a good sharing of the ball...TEAM mi seh!
The U-17s had the athletic ability to have done tremendously better but they still were not sharing the ball - No TEAM - and suffered as a result.
