THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Daley stars in North End win

Trialist Keamaar Daley races down the wing for North End at Morecambe on Wednesday night

Preston’s first visit to the Globe Arena ended in victory over Morecambe on Wednesday night.
The pre-season friendly - a testimonial for Shrimps’ long-serving midfielder Stewart Drummond - was a strongly contested, and at times heated affair.
But it will have served as decent preparation for both sides with the start of the Football League campaign just a week-and-a-half away.
North End opted for a blend of youth and trialists when it came to the make-up of the squad which travelled north up the M6.
The starting XI featured five trialists - Amine Linganzi, Keammar Daley, Stephen Jordan, Andres Oper and David Lucas.
There was a sixth on the bench in the shape of German goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann who replaced Lucas at the break.
It was one of the players looking to catch the eye - Jamaican winger Daley - who put PNE in front.
Jamie Proctor’s ninth pre-season goal doubled the lead early in the second half, with skipper George Miller netting a fine third late on.
North End threatened inside the first minute, Daley’s tricky run setting up Paul Coutts at the far post but his goalbound shot was blocked by Laurence Wilson’s sliding block.
The Shrimps responded with early pressure of their own, Nick Fenton heading just over the bar from an Izak Reid corner.
Garry Hunter then drilled a low shot wide of the far post after Drummond’s low cross had been deflected into his path off Bailey Wright’s foot.
Oper powered a header narrowly the wrong side of the near post after Scott Leather’s right-wing cross had picked him out.
That was the Estonian striker’s main contribution of the contest before a tight hamstring curtailed his evening later in the first half.
Danny Carlton curled a shot straight into the gloves of Lucas - Leather’s misjudgement having presented him with the opportunity.
PNE drew first blood just after the half hour, Coutts coming inside from the right and threading a fine pass through to Daley on the left-side of the box.
Daley took the ball past Will Haining before stabbing a shot between keeper Barry Roche and the near post.
It delighted North End’s large and noisy travelling contingent who showed their appreciation by chanting ‘Phil, sign him up!’
Morecambe almost levelled within three minutes, Gary McDonald’s close-range volley from Reid’s cross pushed away by David Lucas.
North End scored their second goal three minutes into the second half, Proctor picking up possession 40 yards out and steamed goalwards, beating two defenders before slipping a low shot past the advancing Roche.
The Shrimps had a golden opportunity to reduce the deficit in the 52nd minute when Hunter was sent tumbling in the box by Wright’s challenge.
Referee Andy Haines had no hesitation in pointing to the spot, and Phil Jevons stepped up to take the penalty.
But Stuckmann dived to his left to get both hands to Jevons’ attempt and push it away - that being the German’s first touch of the ball!
Linganzi’s night ended in rather controversial circumstances in the 68th minute, the midfielder having become embroiled in an off-ball confrontation with Andy Fleming.
After consulting with one of his assistants, referee Haines asked the PNE coaching staff to substitute the Frenchman - Reece James sent on to replace him.
North End sealed the win with six minutes remaining, Miller firing a fine first-time volley from the edge of the box into the top corner.
Fittingly, Drummond was named the Shrimps’ man of the match, and he’ll have been pleased with his night’s work in the centre of midfield.

Morecambe: Roche, Charnock, Fenton, Haining, Wilson, Reid, Drummond, Hunter, McDonald, Jevons, Carlton. Subs: Fleming (McDonald 40), Alessandra (Jevons 64), Parkinson (Hunter 64), Culshaw (Charnock 81), McGee (Drummond 90), Routledge, Parrish, McGee, Breen.

PNE: Lucas, Leather, Devine, Wright, Jordan, Coutts, Miller, Linganzi, Daley, Proctor, Oper. Subs: Osobe (Oper 32), Stuckmann (Lucas 46), Middleton (Daley 60), Mayor (Coutts 60), James (Linganzi 68).
