Players engaged in a full-scale brawl after Paraguay eliminated Venezuela 5-3 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the Copa America semifinals. Paraguay hung on with only ten men and survived several scoring chances from Venezuela.

Paraguay, which has not won a game in regulation time during the competition, advances to the finals against Uruguay.
