Arsenal are closing in on the capture of highly-rated Costa Rica youngster Joel Campbell, according to the player's father.
Club executive Richard Law has flown to South America to clinch a £900,000 deal for the 19-year-old.
It was revealed on Sunday that Arsenal had agreed a deal, but Campbell would have to apply for a special work permit.
He has not yet played the number of required of full senior internationals set by the Home Office and so would need to contact the government.
But Campbell's dad told La Prensa Libre newspaper a medical was imminent, saying: "These tests will be in the Cima hospital and supervised by the people of Arsenal. Everything is virtually ready."
