Wesley Sneijder’s glamorous wife Yolanthe could hold the key to breaking
the deadlock in his proposed £35million move to
Manchester United as the couple have already appointed an agency to work on commercial deals in the English speaking world.

Former United and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon, now a partner at Creative Artists’ Agency, is aiding the search for new deals for the couple and a move to the UK would boost the profiles of both the player and his TV presenter wife.

Okay darling - whatever you say! Yolanthe could persuade Sneijder to leave Inter

Yolanthe, whose full name is Yolanthe Sneijder Cabau van Kasbergen, married Sneijder in Italy last year, a week after he played in the World Cup final.

She spends much of her professional life in Los Angeles, working on TV
projects, and is said to be ambitious to break into English-language TV.

However, there remain major obstacles to the move, which prompted
Sir Alex Ferguson to downplay his club’s interest last week — not least Sneijder’s £280,000- a-week deal with Inter, who will also hold out for
at least £35m, while United want to pay considerably less.

Money, money, money: Rooney is United's top earner

United will not allow Sneijder to top Wayne Rooney’s £220,000-a-week wages and there is the additional problem of the UK’s 50 per cent tax rate,
which compares unfavourably to Italy’s 43 per cent.

Sneijder’s father Barry, who works for the star’s agent Soren Lerby, has been quoted in Holland confirming interest from United in the player.

‘We are aware of the interest from Manchester United for Wesley,’ said
    Sneijder senior.

‘We absolutely want to make sure we are treating Inter with respect. Wesley is enjoying his life in Milan and the club gave him a fantastic new contract last year.
‘So let us first find out what Inter want.’
