<Telecommunications provider LIME says it will not sponsor Jamaica's top football league – the National Premier League.
The statement from LIME came three weeks after it was reported that the company would replaced its fierce rival Digicel as title sponsor of the premier league.
However, Gary Sinclair, managing director of LIME Jamaica, says to sponsor the premier league is not possible in the current financial year.
Sinclair says his company had discussions with the board of the Premier League Clubs Association and after evaluating the proposal arrived at its decision.
The league is without a sponsor after Digicel did not renew its sponsorship after its three-year $150 million deal expired last season.
Digicel took the decision not to renew its sponsorship due to what it says is a refocus of strategy with regard to the development of grassroots and youth football.>
