  • CONCACAF FIFA 2014 World Cup Qualification

I know most of the forumites are true football fans like me. I know because ever since FSC, FSP, ESPN Caribbean 1 & 2 and SPORTSMAX etc football is basically the only sports I watch religiously on TV and the internet where I check for football news everyday. (Thank God I work at a cable company.)

    Okay! Here's the thing.
I know most of the forumites know that Jamaica's Reggae Boyz won't kick off their 2014 World Cup Qualification until about September 2012. But as a true footbal fan shouldn't the forumites pay attention to the start of the CONCACAF 2014 World Cup Qualifiers as small as the bottom 10 teams are. I certainly am:

    http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/prelimi...ngs/index.html

Now the second round gets really interesting. Why? Because unlike past qualifying formats when it used to be the top 2 teams, only 1 team, the group winners will advance to the round to meet Jamaica and the other top 5 CONCACAF teams.

    http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/tour...acaribbean.pdf

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_FI...F_Second_Round

Now this certainly poses a certain dilemma for some of our top CONCACAF rivals. Doesn't it. Especially Jamaica's main rival.
I'm just saying and praying they come through to end up in our group.

Now don't tell me to be careful what I wish for. Because that's what exactly what rivalrys are about.

So what do the forumites think!

just completed a stint head of delegation one of those minnow teams ...... it's nuff work!

the guidelines and requirements are admirable and the timeline issues are critical! everything has to be like clockwork.

It's the second half which would officially put Belize through to the next round.

                Belize 3-1 Montserrat

                AGGREGATE 8-3

                    Okay Forumites.

Since I know that most of the forumites will be interested in the World Cup Draw even though the Reggae Boyz' "Road to Brazil" won't start until next year. Here is a list of possible international broadcasters:

                    http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminarydraw/index.html

                    http://espn.go.com/espn3/

                    Canada English:
                    Free-to-air: CBC
                    Cable/satellite (pay): Bold

                    http://www.infrontsports.com/mediari...a-world-cuptm/

I will continue to search for other media outlets. Meanwhile I will contact TVJ and CVM to see which one of our local channels will carry the draw.

So it went to the Soca Warriors forum to post in good faith.

So with the World Cup 2014 Draw on Saturday what would be T&T's Soca Warriors chances of topping their group and advancing to the third stage of World Cup qualifiers.
                        What if T&T's group had:

                        2nd Round or 2nd Round
                        T&T T&T
                        Guatemala Guyana
                        Barbados Cayman Islands
                        St. Lucia Bahamas

And if they advance to the third round:

                        THIRD ROUND or THIRD ROUND
                        Mexico Honduras
                        Jamaica Jamaica
                        T&T T&T
                        Panama Canada

Do the forumites have a different setup?

Why do Trinis keep using the HEXAGON as some sort of achievement over Jamaica when they can't even challenge for the fourth play-off spot. They should realize by now that Jackula, by using an outdated two year ranking system, made sure T&T had an easy group while Jamaica was placed in the Group of Death. A group that many outsiders made predictions that Jamaica would get ZERO or 4 points from Canada alone. We all know what happened then. Tappa came!

Sigh!!!! Anyway!!!! Now that my little rant is over. I just wanted to tell the forumites that TVJ and CVM told me that they are not sure if they will be carrying the World Cup Draw.
I will try again later and hope I get some good news.
