barca's system .... he is built around that.

... so based on that he would struggle playing with other teams?

lazie, is he a man or machine... players can lose form... yes others play in europe too but most of those you name probably dont play the same amount of games nor shoulder as much load as messi... messi played a lot of minutes this past season...

and, the major thing is that messi play in barca system with those players fi most of his life... he is definitely more familar with the barca system and players than he would be with argentina... messi only play with argentina once in a blue moon... dont even think he plays 6 games this year with argentina prior to this tournament...

...I'd say man like the rest of the players. The Ronaldos, the Villas, the Etos etc all turn up and perform for their national team. They only play with their team whenever the national team is in action.

Now if as you and Gamma keep saying, he is more familiar with the Barca system, then ... wouldn't that make him the King of Clubs then?

he is still a great player but he does not play as well outside the system that he is used to.

I can never understand that club baller statement. If you play for 2 teams one which is significantly better than the other team, chances are you will play better with the team of higher quality, its common sense.

Sergio Ramos won the EUROs and World Cup with Spain, and hasn't won anything significant with Real Madrid does that make him an international 'baller'?

The only player who has ever carried both country and club on his back is Maradona.

Time for us to be fair, lets call a spade a spade Messi is a monster despite his lack of international success.

Hold on ... didn't say he wasn't good. As I said previously, I defended his world cup flop ... but seeing him struggle in the Copa ... have to say he is a club baller ... better yet ... monster at the club level.

One doesn't have to win a trophy to play well. Ronaldo hasn't won anything with Portugal .... yet he plays well for his country. Cruff and Sneidjer didn't win with the Netherlands yet played well for their country.

he had a long season, it is undestandable if he not in his best form... further, he needs more time with his argentina teammates to gel... just not enough games together...

Tell me, as armchair coach, what are your aims for your REGGAE BOYZ...and how best you hope to realize those aims?
