2011 Gold Cup Results Have Create an Upset Tim Howard

U.S. Goalkeeper Tim Howard was steaming at the conclusion of the Gold Cup. And he had every right to be. The U.S. had just blown a 2-0 lead en route to losing 4-2, and then they had to watch Mexico claim the 2011 Gold Cup.
That was not the source of Howard's post game angst and rant though. The post game ceremonies, which were held in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, were conducted in Spanish.
Howard was visibly upset at the awards ceremony, and he spoke to the press afterwards. Here is Howard as quoted on ESPN:
CONCACAF should be ashamed of themselves. I think it was a f*#!*@* disgrace that the entire postmatch ceremony was in Spanish. You can bet your ass that if we were in Mexico City, it wouldn't be all in English.
Howard wanted to make it clear that is not what cost them the game:
But that's not why we lost the game. They've got some special players who put us in some bad situations.
ESPN reported that Ben Spencer, a spokesman for CONCACAF, declined to comment about the situation.

At some point, they have to don't they? Howard's pointed statements will remain the elephant in the room until CONCACAF addresses them.

I mentioned it to someone at the time. They did not even attempt an English translation one time But not only that. It seemed like all the people on the podium were supporting Mexico! Would the same persons have handed out the awards if the yanks had won? That would have been rather awkward.

I agree with Howard. Jack barely ease up offa him seat but dem can't wait fi tek ova di ting!

Well we still have the number of votes to determine things going fwd. Something like 16 english peaking votes to around 9 spanish votes and 3 to 4 french votes and 2 dutch votes.

        Ah we run tings.

and THAT is the crux of the matter!!

methinks dem have a candidate fi challenge platini next time around and trying to set the satge for that vote by nullifying CFU.

btw - I had written that CFU had 23 member state votes at FIFA's Congress, I saw somewhere since that it is 30!

I wonder how many votes we have at CONCACAF's Congress? ...it may be that the CONCACAF Statues have CFU with more...i.e. certain positions may entitle the holder to have an individual vote.

Would CONCACAF anti-CFU group take over using the divide and rule (house slaves v field slaves) strategy (see: Puerto Rico, Suriname and Bahamas may already have been won over by Bucky-Massa - by-the-way it was claimed Boxhill was also of the Puerto Rico, Suriname and Bahamas ilk...giving no support to Jack and the CFU)?

So on a whole with Jamaica and T&T being the strongest CFU members. What would the fallout be like for our smaller CFU member if the "white massas" won the CONCACAF vote?

Gamma: Please help? I heard this morning that CFU has

                  34 votes.

How may votes does CFU have at FIFA's Congress?

                  ...and CONCACAF's Congress?

they may have more at concacaf than at fifa because of guadeloupe and those others ..... in the high 20's early 30's ... will have to check.
