FIFA Whistle-blower Blazer Under Investigation After Complaint Filed by the Jamaica Football Federation

The man who blew the whistle on alleged bribery within FIFA could find himself under investigation after a complaint from Caribbean football chiefs.


Chuck Blazer, the US' representative on football's world governing body, confirmed to Sky News he had received an inquiry from the organisation's Ethics Committee. It was prompted by a letter, obtained by Sky News, from members of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) and filed by the Jamaican Football Federation (JFF).

They allege that in a meeting in Zurich on May 30, Mr Blazer made statements containing what they called "contempt and slander" against officials from his federation.

The letter goes on to question whether Mr Blazer, who is also general secretary of Concacaf, the football federation which represents North America, Central America and the Caribbean, had violated Fifa's code of ethics.

Certainly, if true, it would be at the least collusion to undermine and subvert the FIFA Presidential process.

...but to return to what we have seen in the media about claims by the reps of the Bahamas FA and the Suriname FA - They claim they received cash...but what are the claiming the cash was for?

Surely if they received monies it must have been given with the understanding that it would be used for a specific purpose? ...and they should/must state that purpose?

...there is also the paper trail on such monies?

...both source - to seek evidence on why given...and the movement once in the hands of the recipients and final destination? ...and if any was subverted to any person or cause?

There must also be questions on, if any funds were received (...and these 2 FAs' reps said they did receive funds) and the purposes for which it is stated they were received were legitimate and those legitimate directives were not followed, the whys and wherefores - was there influence exerted...and by whom to subvert or divert the use of the funds to other purposes?

...but at least one is reported to have said it was for development of football in his country.

...did he believe that was its purpose and thus handed the money to his FA with the necessary documentation for it to be so used?
