I would love him to step up if given a chance but at this stage he is a trial/error baller in my opinion.

And who is not trial and error baller? Look how many opportunities were missed by Shelton and Johnson? I hope you are not considering both finished articles.
The only thing I think they may have on Boyd is that they currently play abroad and Shelton is our leading all-time scorer. I like Johnson's size, but he was wasteful in front of goal in that last match. I would be willing to try something different if he continues in that mode."Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance." ~ Kahlil Gibran

Shelton is not a great shooter. Johnson was a decent shooter last year but he has lost form so if you read I say I hope he finds it.
Boyd hasn't had a lot of chances at this level and must be a big if. Hopefully he will come through.
Omar Cummings, Fuller and a fit Obrien White are better finisher. I think Shelton is playing the perfect spot for him as a winger and not as a striker. Is boyd a good header of the ball?- Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Now I see where you are going with this. Sass, you have a tendency to be so parochial in your outlook. Anything to get your boy O'brien White into the frame.
Well get this, White is not there at the GC, he was not even considered because he is out injured. Fuller is now an old man and seem more to be focused on his retirement.
Right now at the GC, the only other striker there is Boyd, so I do not know how you are going to fit in White and Fuller. I see where Tappa is going to drop Johnson and play Keammar Daley maybe as a withdrawn forward. That should be interesting.
Sass, remember that O'brien White got his chances at the international level and he did not impress."Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance." ~ Kahlil Gibran

What I am saying they are good striker of the ball. None of them is fit however.
Not against Boyd getting his game, and he maybe a good player but not a striker. Fuller for example can be a good striker but he tend to drop back and dribble too much. Obrien White is a good finisher but he hasn't proven himself at this level.
Omar Cummings on form can be clinical. I am going nowhere. Can Keammar Daley head the ball? Dane Richards can't, Luton can't so we will be playing with a forward line without one good header of the ball. That is why as long as Ryan is fit he will be in the starting 11.- Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Again, you are going down a path which makes no sense. There are 4 forwards in the squad after Cummings had to pull out. They are Shelton, Richards, Johnson and Boyd. Your original argument started by saying Tappa had no other option than the three he played in the match. I reminded you that there is also Boyd in the squad.
Based on the misfiring of Johnson in the match against supposedly the weakest team in our group, I would think the coach may want to consider his options. He cannot call on Cummings, Fuller or White, so I am a bit baffled as to why you are even mentioning them.

Not so sure Tappa is going to "drop" Johnson. If he does that would be a bad move.
...does not mean he cannot win without Johnson. The only players I think on this team where replacement would be a big miss are Dane Richards and Johnson.
Johnson had a great match. He fetched and carried for his TEAM and also found himself in great postions to score. He kept the opposition honest - i.e. always having to watch and put men on him thus giving others of his TEAMmates more freedom.
His missed shot that hit the crossbar...had his previous movement and positioning and selection of pass into goal bang on. His placement of the pass was just a little off.
He had a massive game."Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Again, I am not making a case to replace anybody. Sass was saying we have only three strike options and they played in the match (Johnson, Shelton and Richards). I was making the point that there is still Boyd and then the discussion went off on a tangent.
I am saying if Tappa intends to replace Johnson, then he has Boyd. I seem to have read in some article where he may start Keammar Daley with the Richards and Shelton.
At yesterday's field session, Whitmore had tactical periods with the starting side from Monday night, then he switched Eric Vernan with Omar Daley, and also replaced Ryan Johnson with Keammar Daley, who looked very sharp in front of goal.
"We have to give ourselves options, and those were two of the options we are looking at going into the game on Friday night," explained Whitmore, who has now won two games from four at the Gold Cup."Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance." ~ Kahlil Gibran

Got the Sass part...but also thought you were saying as fact Tappa had dropped Johnson from the starting line-up.
You never know exactly what the starting line-up shall be until it is comfirmed immediately before start time."Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Did I say it was the only option? What I say is Johnson is the only option who can use his head and when he is on form he is a better striker(not necessarily player) than the rest.
Boss I said I don't see any great striker in the team.
"Anyone can head the ball given the right opportunity." Come on Tilla come better than this. There is a reason why they use only one forward and 2 wingers because the coach think that is our strenght.- Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Life is for living and I won't spend my life feeling cheated and downtrodden.

The only problem I see was Johnson is not bag on form and we have no other real forward in the squad.

What you said and what you meant to say are two different things.
