Guatemalan defenders Gustavo Cabrera and Henry Medina were both ejected in the second half, but still managed to hang on for a 0-0 draw.
Cabrera, whom the announcers described as Guatemala's best defender was ejected in the 61st minute for two yellow cards. Medina, who entered the game in the 72nd minute, recieved two yellow cards in seven minutes, and was sent off in the 79th.
With nine men, Guatemala kept Honduras' offense at bay and Honduras could not mount much sustained pressure on Guatemala's goal.
