    May 27, 2011

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

National Senior Head Coach Theodore Whitmore has expressed profound disappointment in the failure of national representative Ian Goodison to join the national squad presently in Brazil preparing for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Mr. Goodison did not depart the NMIA on Thursday, 26th with the other players Jason Morrison; Dwayne Miller: Rudolph Austin and Dane Richards as scheduled.

As a result Mr. Goodison has been removed from the squad as the rules which were made clear to all was that the camp in Brazil was mandatory. There is no option therefore of the player joining the squad in California for its first fixture against Grenada on June 6. “The days of players doing as they please with the national programme are over” said a very disappointed Coach Whitmore. ‘and this is the case no matter who the player is, regardless of his experience or standing, no one is bigger than the team. The door is never closed to any national player but this is a lost opportunity for Mr. Goodison.”

“We have moved on with the preparation as both the technical staff and the players are determined to do well at this tournament”

Pepe and a few others take advantage. It show that Tappa serious. Almost same thing went down last Gold Cup with a few senior players.

So who drop who? Sound like Pepe drop Tappa. But seriously I should hope pepe made himself available for the team and had discussions with Tappa. I even saw him in the background on the TV at some JFF function last week.

      Disrespect.

Good work by Tappa. He is showing that no man is superior, and that discipline is very much important.

A recognition of a mistake? Pepe not among our best defenders?
...and after a meeting of all parties it was decided to 'use a ploy' to remove him and to remove himself from the touring party?

          I hope so.
