Federation (JFF) and the Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA) will be sending all 12 coaches
for teams participating in next season's Premier League to Brazil on a two-week training exercise, in a bid to increase the expertise and exposure of coaches at that level.
Following last year's insistence that every coach at the Premier League level be equipped with at least a FIFA Level Two coaching certificate and the emergence of the JMMB/JFF/UTech Coaching School, the JFF, in partnership with the PLCA, is looking to continue the development of the men at the helm of the nation's most powerful clubs - a move that is expected to bear positive results in the national programme.
"One of the initiatives that the JFF has embarked on is getting exposure for our Premier League coaches. We got in touch with our Brazilian friends and so an arrangement was made where all 12 Premier League coaches for next season will be sent to Brazil between June 29 and July 12," JFF president, Captain Horace Burrell announced on Thursday night at the 2010-11 Digicel Premier League awards ceremony, at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston.
The full cost of the trip will be shared by the JFF and the PLCA, with the latter taking care of the airfare for each coach, while the JFF will contribute the accommodation and all other fees.
written exam
In addition to technical exercises, the schedule will see the coaches getting a chance to see the operations of some of the country's biggest clubs while in Brazil.
Burrell also pointed out that each coach will be asked to sit a written exam upon their return to the island, as a means of gauging the levels of improvement.
"Whilst in Brazil, our 12 coaches will be exposed to both theory and practical training. They will have the opportunity to visit and observe some of the activities at some of the biggest clubs in Brazil such as Santos and Sao Paulo," Burrell added.
"The object of this exercise is to strengthen the knowledge and experience of the coaches at the Premier League level, from which most of our national players emerge.
"We recognise the need to intensify the coaching education and development. We also recognise the need for our coaches to be able to impart the technical knowledge the right way to our players. We recognise that we have challenges, and we are moving very swiftly to address most of these," Burrell added.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Look X, the Jamaican fixation to Brazilian football is almost genetic. Since this is (so), there is no way to convince the JFF establishment that a simplier, easier path...to reach the same objective exists....

Oh, BTW: I don't think your bwoy Seago have much influence beyond the NPL. Having him lead JFF would be worse than Mosiah and Sickko bwoy Boxhill.
The only time TRUTH will hurt you...is if you ignore it long enough
