• Jomo in limbo

When is this nonsense going to stop? Spectators are getting out of hand. Even HVFC is not immune to this. Last year when they were imploding, some of the uglier sides of HV's supporters came to the fore.

The nightmare continues for embattled striker Jomo Gordon and the player remains in limbo as premier league teams Waterhouse and Harbour View grapple to reach a contractual agreement regarding the player's future.

The teams are currently in negotiations regarding a move away from the title holders Waterhouse to his former team Harbour View for the 28-year-old striker.

However, to date there has been no agreement reached in terms of monetary compensation for the rest of Gordon's current three-year contract.

It has been reported that the forward, who has shown a knack for netting on the big occasions, decided that he would no longer play for the club after being threatened by spectators towards the end of last season. As a result of that incident, the player has not suited up for the club or even attended a training session for the club since last July.

In fact, Gordon had made an attempt to leave the club since then, but had to stay put because no agreement was reached between the parties before the close of the transfer window.

The matter has since been referred to the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), but according to general secretary Burchell Gibson, the JFF cannot instruct Water-house to release the player. The federation confirmed that their investigations confirmed that Gordon had reported he was threatened to then assistant coach Hugh 'Bingi' Blair.

However, according to regulations, all grievances with the club are expected to be submitted in writing by the player to the organisation and that was never done.

The contract then cannot be terminated unless there is a breach in the signed agreement and this was deemed not to be the case after a meeting with all parties involved and the JFF's competitions committee.

"We can do nothing about it. It is for both clubs to come to an amicable solution. These players are professional and they are bound by their contractual agreement," Gibson explained.

"They should read what they sign to. We have had talks with the CONCACAF office and FIFA as well and based on what was explain
