    Hey!
There was first the Trevor Partchment lead KC T&F organisation in th early '60s...then Vere Ladies, then C'bar, then...and on and on...

Now you have those above and Holmwood, Edwin Allen, St. Jago, Wolmers, JC...and the rising star MC! MC! Munro College!

...so it can also be done for football!

two things. A under 20 team should be in the DPL every season, playing with the big boys. A under 17 team should be a part of the DPL under 21 league.

Not 100% on all the youths going to board as I think there should be a regional pool because what you find is that some of the kids who may not be great at 10 might be great at 17 and you want to make sure they are still a part of the program.

This was mentioned last year to the right folk, but needs more convincing. A friend of mine Tim Hankson coached a U21 USA side that did this a few years back and sadly it's stopped. Some good results....Landon Donavan and others.

As I said the age group teams should play in a league that's appropriate... what league that is ...is not my call

Also no solution is 100%... compromises must be made and di ting improved as dem galang... regionals pools, players developing at different rates etc

                      1. Form a permanent national player pool at U-17 and U-14 levels based at the Academy -- World Cup Development -- WCD program.... players evaluated and selected islandwide

                      2. With assistance from ISSA & Min of Education, recruit say 10 willing & suitable schools in easy reach of UWI to serve as "home" schools for the student athletes in the pools. Rural players can be transferred to one of these schools...players in the KMR can remain in their current schools.... suitable accommodation for out of towners to be provided.
WCD players will not be available to the schools for their competitions but only for the Academy program...the schools will just be responsible for their academic development in all aspects. Tutors to be provided for students needing remedial work

                      3. Training at the Academy to be structured around the school schedule... transportation to and from the academy (and any accommodation expenses) to be arranged by the JFF/Chase Fund/sponsors

                      4. If feasible/desirable.. enter the U-17 team in the club U-20 competition and the U-20 in the KSAFA Major League...or competition deemed most suitable for their age group & development.
Otherwise proceed with whatever development program is suitable for competitive games...

                      5. JFF & ISSA to cooperate to build coaching & player development expertise in the high schools and their competitions
                      ....

I like it, looks good, we all agree something need to be done and soon, however i genuinely believe that to get the necessary sponsorship from corporate Jamaica and to get everyone to buy in to the project it is imperative that the national team does well because no one wants to be associated with failure. How is the national team going to achieve success in the short term? The answer is simple, we need to put the best available players on the field and at this moment in time the local contingent needs help, so it is in the JFF's interest to what it takes to achieve success.

                          I agree... on the surface

Problem is we've heard this logical-sounding argument every 4 years since 1998. Short term has a funny way of turning into long term

                          Something needs to change

True, but thre state of our fields is not the biggest contributor to our failures at the highest level. Many African countries are producing world class footballers on dust bowls.

I dare say a smooth dustbowl is better than a lumpy grass field any day of the week.

And, do these African players go straight from the dustbowl in Abidjan to Chelsea? Or do they go to a lesser club where the raw skills are developed and refined?
