USA vs. MEXICO PREVIEW PRESS CONFERENCE WITH

HEAD COACH BOB BRADLEY AND MIDFIELDER PABLO MASTROENI

TO BE SHOWN LIVE ON USSOCCER.COM AT 3 P.M. ET ON WEDNESDAY

GLENDALE, Ariz. (Jan. 23, 2007) – U.S. MNT head coach Bob Bradley, midfielder and Phoenix native Pablo Mastroeni, and Global Spectrum at University of Phoenix Stadium general manger Peter Sullivan will participate in a press conference on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 3 p.m. ET (1 p.m. MT) streamed live online at ussoccer.com.

The press conference is being staged at the University of Phoenix Stadium and will be highlighted by Bradley’s 26-player training camp roster announcement in advance of the USA’s upcoming showdown against regional rivals Mexico on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. MT (9 p.m. ET) live on ESPN2, Univision and ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker.

Following the 2006 FIFA World Cup, both the U.S. and Mexico will have new coaches each looking to prove themselves in one of the most intense soccer rivalries in the world. The U.S. has a lifetime record of 12-29-10 against Mexico in a series that dates to 1934; however, the U.S. has dominated the series of late, collecting a 6-0-1 home record against Mexico since 2000, netting 11 goals while the Mexicans have failed to score a single goal on American soil in this decade.

The rivalry reached new heights when the teams meet in the knockout phase of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, with the USA grabbing a 2-0 victory and advancing to the quarterfinals of the tournament for the first time in 72 years.

Bradley was selected to lead the U.S. team on Dec. 8 and is preparing the U.S. for two major competitions this summer, the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the U.S., and Copa America in Venezuela. Mastroeni, a hard-nosed midfielder who grew up in Phoenix, has 51 appearances with the U.S. and is a veteran of the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cups. Mastroeni played 90 minutes in the midfield on Saturday, Jan. 20, as Bradley’s team earned a 3-1 win vs. Denmark in his first game in charge of the U.S. squad.

Tickets for the match are on sale now at ussoccer.com, all Glendale area Ticketmaster outlets (including Macy’s, Fry’s Marketplace and FYE), the University of Phoenix Stadium ticket office (Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and by phone at 480-784-4444. Groups of 20 or more can purchase tickets by calling U.S. Soccer at 312-528-1290 or obtaining a group order form at ussoccer.com. Day-of-game ticket prices will be higher than advance ticket purchases.
