New signing Omar Daley is relishing the high level of expectation generated by his arrival at City.

Fans are predicting big things from the jet-paced Jamaican midfielder in the wake of Jermaine Johnson's success.

And Daley, who trained with his new team for the first time today, is determined to live up to the hype.

He said: "It's always good to be under pressure. I think you will get more out of me like that.

"It's nice that Jermaine has come here and done well. We are similar players and I also want to improve my skills and move Bradford forward.

    "The gaffer has said that all the Jamaicans he has brought over have done well. I aim to keep my head and do my best.<A name=mpubot></A><DIV id=midpagempu style="DISPLAY: none" align=center><DIV class=am id=midpagemputop style="PADDING-BOTTOM: 5px"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10px; FLOAT: left">Advertisement</SPAN> continued...</DIV><DIV class=am id=midpagempumpu><SCRIPT language=JavaScript></SCRIPT></DIV></DIV>

"I'm much more comfortable with playing in England this time around. I'm really up for it."

The 25-year-old Jamaican international, who had previous spells at Reading and Preston, comes with a reputation for lightning speed, an accurate cross and a powerful shot with either foot.

Daley said: "I normally like to play on the right side, going down the flank and coming inside to shoot with my left. And I've got speed - I just need to know when to use it.

"But I've been playing all over midfield as well as right back for Jamaica. I'm a good all-rounder. The gaffer can put me wherever he wants and I'll do the job."

Daley, who has joined on an 18-month deal, hopes to be involved against Yeovil on Saturday and will spend the week pressing his claims to make a home start.

He said: "It's a good incentive but we'll see how the week goes. I have to impress the gaffer in training - no talking, just training.

"The more games you play, the better you are. I just need to get my fitness level up, go on a good run in the team and see what happens from there.

"The coaching staff is very good here and it's up to me now to do my best and make things work."

RE: Daley to show he's the real deal

Daley is the next Jamaican who could move to the EPL. He has the technical skills, speed across ground and reaction time to more that just cope.

I know...I know many here point to some of his tackling...but, in my mind that is a part of his game that canbe and should be easilyimproved.

Take it from me...he plays TEAM and could become a star with his current team...and, in the EPL!!!!

    Aside:

...both JJ and Fuller could become stars if only they included more TEAM (put on better thinking caps)...in 'their games'! They have the speed across ground, reaction time and technical skills! ...just the thinking that presentsaproblem! For the life of me I cannot understand why, as the early Lowe also displayed, they all do not show more of 'good thinking' on the field of play? ...it is not hard to think sensibly...is it?

Look at Wenger's entire TEAM...particularly the young guns? They all show they think well!

Wenger's young guns...funnily I think the young England winger is currently the 'slowest'....not to mention that clown Reyes who moved to REAL Madrid...he is just plain dumb.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

RE: Daley to show he's the real deal

Dribbles by you with the greatest of ease, can and WILL shoot from anywhere off any foot. Great range of passes fast like a hare, has energyto buzz all over the field and stay involved for ninety minutes and then some. Very good picture - Incredible talent meets physical specimen....

BUT beware! He needs to put more of those shots in the back of the netspectacular near misses will only keephim in league one. Needs to be more consistent on the passing thing he has the vision from long timebut the ball doesn't always get there. Has not yet learned to use his speed to pick on certain defenders and eat a food for himself especially off tired defenders when he is still bubbling in the 80-90 minute periods.

If he can score consistently at Bradford and control his incredible energy that seems to cause him to rush most things he does (pass tackle) then the sky is the limit.

The reason they do not show more good thinking is because it was never trained. Players are not born ready made. They develop over time. You cannot expect a player who has never been taught tactical considerationsto just up and have "good thinking" on the field. It is not the players fault it is the coaches they came up under who are to blame. Just my opinion. - T.K.

I do not disagree with you Siya. If hecan settle in atright wing backthen goal scoring will not be a priority for him. That way he can focus on his strengths (covering alot of ground, getting serves in) and not have to rely upon his weaknesses for success. Sometimes a coach has to put a player in a position to succede. I cuss Downswell but he had it right in this regard with Daley. That switch from mid-field to wingback was an excellent decision. It tookadvantage of all of Daley's strengths.I am rooting for him.

In a way I am feeling real selfish. I kind of want JJ to stay at Bradford so that they have 3 Jamaicans on the roster. That would be real cool and it gives us a club team that everyone on the forum can support. (Clap) - T.K.
