Henry scores two, T&T ties Jamaica 2-2
MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica - Shackiel Henry scored a pair of second-half goals to give Trinidad a 2-2 draw with Caribbean rival Jamaica on Tuesday at the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship.
After Jamaica led on Jason Wright's first-half penalty, Trinidad surged ahead before Romario Williams equalized for the "Young Boyz" in the 70th minute.
Jamaica had the better of play, outshooting Trinidad 16-7, and went ahead on Wright's penalty in the 42nd minute.
It was unclear if Mexican referee Ricardo Arellano whistled for a handball or another foul against Trinidad's Neil Benjamin, but the 16-year-old Wright converted easily, leaving goalkeeper Quesi Weston with no chance.
Trinidad, one of only two Caribbean teams to advance through qualifying undefeated, started the second half brightly and wasted a chance to equalize in the 49th minute when Jomal Williams' header flashed wide.
Eight minutes later, Trinidad tied the match when a free kick by Nicholas Marcano was fumbled by Jamaica goalkeeper Richard Trench into the path of Henry, who scored easily.
Henry put Trinidad ahead in the 64th minute, taking advantage of a lapse in the Jamaican defense.
Jamaica recovered and with 20 minutes remaining Williams unleashed an effort that Weston got a hand on, but could not prevent from entering the net to the delight of the partisan crowd of 4,400 at Catherine Hall Stadium.

There is a certain hypocrisy going on with regards to the U-17 and this site. The problem with us Jakan at times; is that the truth will be staring us in the face and we bury our heads and ignore it. This is due to our history of having a tribal approach towards most things.
I really hope thhat the U-17 have some luck and make it though.

Licks for Jamdown. Nuff blows to blouse an' skirt.
Jamaica no match for the class of T&T.
Recommend that the Jamaican teams take trips to Trinidad to get practice against T&T Pro League teams. Forget Brazil and spending millions on useless trips, it eh helping.

Yuh right about the spending but that's not it.There is another problem. People don't respect when money is spent. I won't get into it, the truth is out there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDZBgHBHQT8

It is really hard to tell how well a team plays by listening to a radio broadcast.
But it seems the team started out nervous then came back into the game in the first half. Then Trinidad adjusted in the second half and took control before we got back into the game.
I still think this team should make it through for the U17 World Cup. I just don't have a great deal of confidence in coach Downswell.
Good luck to them in their next game where they will need a win. They really need to finish at the top of this group to put them in a better position for the quarterfinal round.
Respect
Mac
