        Trinidad joins U-20 championship field
MACOYA, Trinidad - Johan Peltier and Sheldon Bateau scored two minutes apart early in the second half to lead Trinidad & Tobago to a 2-1 victory over Suriname on Monday and a place in the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.

The result completed a 4-2 aggregate victory and gave Trinidad the first-round Caribbean qualifying Group D title, leaving only one berth remaining in the 12-team field April 3-17 in Guatemala.
It was the second goal in as many games and third in four for Bateau, who scored also scored the winner in a 2-1 first-leg victory December 10 in Paramaribo, Suriname. Peltier gave Trinidad the lead in the 57th minute. He also scored in a pair of earlier first-round victories over St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Trinidad led 2-0 until the final minute when Dimitrie Apai pulled Suriname within a goal.

Trinidad joins host Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, El Salvador, Cuba, Jamaica, Guadeloupe and automatic qualifiers Canada, Mexico and the United States in the CONCACAF finals April 3-17.
Suriname will have another chance to qualify, facing off against the Netherlands Antilles, Bermuda and Guyana for the last Caribbean berth and the final place in the field. (PS - Suriname has qualified for the tournament).
