Liverpool accept Hoffenheim offer for Ryan Babel

Babel has struggled to establish himself at Anfield

Liverpool have accepted a bid from German club Hoffenheim for Dutch forward Ryan Babel. The 24-year-old will now discuss personal terms with the Bundesliga club after travelling to Germany.
The Reds signed Babel in an £11.5m deal from Ajax in July 2007 but he has struggled to fulfil his potential in a frustrating time at Anfield.
He has made 146 outings for the club, with 81 coming as a substitute, and has scored 22 goals in the process.
Babel, who was fined £10,000 by the Football Association on Monday for Twitter posts linking to a mocked-up picture of referee Howard Webb in a Manchester United shirt, was a member of the Dutch team that won the European Under-21 Championship in June 2007 and he made his Ajax debut at 17.

Depending on our divided views we can rejoice or mourn his departure

    epic swindle

But after his move to Merseyside he failed to earn the confidence of former Liverpool managers Rafael Benitez and Roy Hodgson.
Kenny Dalglish is currently at the managerial helm and he seems to be equally unconvinced by the forward and is prepared to let him leave.
The prospect of Babel's departure would also suggest Liverpool have lined up a new signing, with reports linking them with a move for Ajax and Uruguay forward Luis Suarez.
