    <SPAN class=headline>PURDY SIGNS ON WITH 1860 II</SPAN>

Former University of California defender Steve Purdy has inked a deal to join the 1860 Munich second team, which does its business in Germany's Regionalliga South division.

The club would not reveal terms or length, but did admit that they hold hope the second team collegiate All-American would grow into a valuable member of the Lions backline.

"He's one maybe for the future," 1860 press officer Robert Hettich told YA. "We will see what quality he has in the third division."
