    If there ever was any doubt...

    that FIFA is a poxy organization, here you go:

    They (presumably) tek the arab man dem money, award them the world cup, now them want to tek the blackmail even further by threatening them with a January tournament and/or a shared Gulf State tournament. How much you tink that gwine cost Qatar in payoffs to make FIFA back off that line? Hmmmm. What a bunch of idiots. All ah dem dyam tief dem need fi spen' some time in a jail...in Qatar!!

    Considering the source , I wouldnt put anything into it , I cant wait for them (british media) to get pics of a Fifa official and an Qatari rep in a compromising position.

      Every time I read bout dis dem increase di temperatures:

      Doubts were immediately raised over the wisdom of handing Qatar the hosting rights, due in part to the desert state regularly experiencing temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius in the summer months.

      In 2016, expect to read:

      Doubts were immediately raised over the wisdom of handing Qatar the hosting rights, due in part to the desert state regularly experiencing temperatures of 90 degrees Celsius in the summer months, in the shade!

        mmmmm?
        Could mean even by Mid-East oil terms tremendous money pumped into making this World Cup the most lavish and best organised ever?

        The people in that part of the World see football firstly as means of building 'prestige'. Image is everything!

        Yup...could mean the money to be thrown around to make the fans and players cpmfortable and make for World awe could be 'disgusting'!

          This is why many decided before a vote that FIFA would host there. FIFA is about more than football whether the reads like or do not like. FIFA is for world wide development of the game and money will do this.

          Certainly would be okay for Jamaica to play there or anywhere internationally. The money could do something fantastic to football development in Jamaica in player and coaching development (if a managed structure is in place and there's time to do this with the right thinking and efforts).

          There's more money for qualifying these days and into the future and just being there than even before. My hope and prayer is that the effort is spent ASAP on development and coaching for players who will be team qualifiers for this tournamant.

                  Karl - I have no problem with Qatar. They do what they have to do. My issue is with the people running FIFA who are trusted to be good custodians, protecting the game for future generations to enjoy. I am CONVINCED that the reason you saw an unprecedented double announcement was purely to secure personal bribes NOW for FIFA's aging bureaucrats. Now they are second guessing their decision - why? Competent leaders defend sound decisions - if they are indeed sound. However, after ignoring the advice of their own technical committee, these robbers made their money and now want to blackmail the Qataris even further. These are very very very bad men. They have no idea how damaging their selfishness is.

                    Paul I do not know what we shall see (the outcome) but this one I think is fraught with uncertainties.

                    The culture of the Middle East is riddle with "do not push such that it is publicly know" i.e. do not make me look bad publicly. ...and when 'shamed'...as the say in our culture 'made to lose face' the react violently. The FIFA boys had better be more subtle with the 'pushing'.

                    Qatar for those who run the show there is about 'getting prestige'. They will pull out all the stops to make their coming World Cup the absolute 'greatest show on Earth'...but they must have the 'prestige'....not be seen as being pushed screaming and kicking 'to do'...like little kids. ...but like lords (gods) creating what mere mortals never did.

                    I shall watch this one...
