Group B fixtures set for CONCACAF U-20 Final Round

    17.1.07
    - CONCACAF confirmed today the fixtures for Group B of the 2007 CONCACAF Under-20 Final Round that will be held at the Carlos González y González Stadium in Culiacán, Sinaloa Mexico from 21-25 February.

Mexico, which is hosting its third CONCACAF Youth event, will greet Costa Rica, Jamaica and St. Kitts & Nevis in Group B, from which two teams will progress to the FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 from 30 June – 12 July.

The other two CONCACAF representatives to the FIFA tournament will come from the CONCACAF U-20 Group A as Guatemala, Haiti, USA and the hosts Panama compete at the Rommel Fernández Stadium in Panama City from 17-21 January.

The CONCACAF U-20 Group B begins on 21 February, when Jamaica meets Costa Rica at 16:00, while Mexico faces St. Kitts & Nevis at 19:00. Costa Rica takes on St. Kitts & Nevis at 16:00 two days later and then Mexico greets Jamaica 19:00. Group B concludes on 25 February, when St. Kitts & Nevis plays against Jamaica at 16:00 and then Mexico hosts Costa Rica at 19:00.

    21.02.2007: JAMAICA – COSTA RICA (16:00)
    MEXICO – ST. KITTS & NEVIS (19:00)

    23.02.2007: COSTA RICA – ST. KITTS & NEVIS (16:00)
    MEXICO – JAMAICA (19:00)

    25.02.2007: ST. KITTS & NEVIS – JAMAICA (16:00)
    MEXICO – COSTA RICA (19:00)

I have to add that whenever a group is drawn the pattern always seem to have the two last teams that play on the final day somehow seem to qualify for whatever tournament. Can our U-20s change this pattern and qualify for the U-20 World Cup. (Pray)(Pray)

RE: Group B U-20 Final Round

    This is funny...

Arnett Gardens have been showing some indifferent form but still remain a dangerous team, and on their day they can beat any side in the league. But today they will be without their leading marksman and the league's top scorer in Leon Strickland, who went missing after their Jackie Bell Knockout loss to the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) recently.

Strickland was heckled throughout the game by spectators and when the game went into penalty kicks, he refused to take his, saying the spectators should take it. Since then the coach says he hasn't heard or seen him.

"We would have love to have him but based on what is happening right now we cannot even think about that. We just have to put other people in place and try to play around him. The show has to go on," said coach Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey.
