ARSENE WENGER reckons Arsenal are now showing the kind of steel which can see them win the Premier League title.
The Gunners thumped Birmingham 3-0 at St Andrew's on Saturday with efforts from Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri and an own goal from Roger Johnson doing the damage.
But it was not his side's goalscoring prowess that impressed Wenger — it was the way his team continued to play their free-flowing style of football despite a series of bruising challenges from Alex McLeish's men.
Wenger said: "It takes a kind of bravery to get the ball down and play. That is always the most important thing and why I was most pleased on Saturday.
"We tried to play every time. Sometimes we lost the ball but we tried, even under pressure.
"After the Chelsea game the team was on a high because we got that burden out of the way.
"But after we were quickly down again because we dropped two points against Wigan. However, I am pleased we were quickly back up again.
"This team could see the positive effect of the Chelsea win — it was there for all to see on Saturday."
Arsenal sit third in the league table, two points behind leaders Manchester United, who have a game in hand.
But Wenger insists his troops have what it takes to claim a first championship crown since their 2004 'Invincibles' season.
He added: "You can see we have the belief in our game now. That is what will make the title race really interesting."
